You're busy but ....... where did all the cash go???

Do you ever look at your Profit and Loss report and everything looks good, but where has all the cash gone???  But have you checked out your Balance Sheet?  This is where Loans/Asset Purchases/Drawings etc are hiding. These are also items that affect your cashflow but often forgotten about as they do not show up in your regular reports. 

Did you know that 82 per cent of small businesses fail due to cash flow issues?

To accurately forecast your cashflow and see where your money is really going, you need to create a cashflow analysis report, showing how much money is coming in and out of your business. Then you can analyse your operating expenses and examine precise details of where your business sends and earns money.

I also find that a cashflow forecast report helps you plan your spending going forward so that you aren’t caught short.  This is a bit more difficult to put together but well worth it if cashflow is tight at the moment.
